This magnificent 2 km long beach will seduce you with its fine golden sand and offer you a range of water sports activities, as well as restaurants and bars from which you can admire the Sanguinaires islands and the sea in shades of blue. It’s a real postcard to capture on film… That’s why Corsica is known as the ‘Isle of Beauty’.
Towards the Capitello tower, built in the 16th century and one of the most imposing emblems of the Genoese era, with its majestic architecture measuring 11 m in height and 42 m in circumference at the base. The Tour de Capitello served as a refuge for the young Napoleon during the insurrection of Pascal Paoli’s supporters in 1793.
A little surprise awaits you on the right-hand side of the Tower: in the middle of the sand, you’ll discover the Casavone pond… rather surprising, isn’t it?
Pistachio trees, wild olive trees, fig trees… the scents of the maquis will make you want to discover the local cuisine, which you can sample at the end of this escapade.
A little anecdote will make you smile… which you can then pass on over an aperitif with friends.
Remember to wear tennis shoes, bring a bottle of water and sun cream, and wear a hat (or cap).
